Vintage Button Collection Obsession

For those that have found their way to my blog via my Etsy shop (Sparebutton - now closed until further notice), you would know that I have a slight obsession with buttons! Vintage buttons, tiny buttons, and making buttons!

I love vintage buttons because they are so much more interesting, hand crafted, thought out, then most of today's boring buttons.

I can't choose a favourite, can you?

  1. Totally drooling over here! These buttons are amazing, as are the photographs. Did you take them?

I love the mismatched blue ones and the pair of gold ones with the tiny flowers. The detailing is really beautiful. Yes, we share the same obsession! :)

  3. I love buttons too! When we were kids and would be babysat by my Irish Gran, she would give us her button box to play with. We would sort them every imaginable way - color, size, shape, # of holes, etc. When she died, it was one of her things that I asked for. She died in 1978 and I still have the tin.

Check out www.thebuttonflorist.com for some beautiful button flowers! I met the artist this past weekend and saw them in person - they are gorgous!

thanks for the link, what beautiful creations!

I can imagine children sorting out old buttons like they are little gems - a sweet picture :)

  5. I love buttons too especially when they are used on making jewelry or hair accessories! Anyway, I can't also choose the best among your collections. For me, all of them are so beautiful.
